Over the past years my travels have taken me to all parts of the globe. I’ve met many unique and wonderful people and here is the story of one that stands out in particular, Mr. Jeff Hirsch. Last year, a gentleman from Boston MA. reached out to me asking to use the audio components of our Trio15 Horn1 for a unique custom build. I was a bit skeptical at first but after getting to know Jeff a bit, the decision was to provide these. Jeff promised me his design will be original and unique. A year after, in October 2018 we met in person, and I have to say, I was extremely impressed!
Jeff Hirsch is an artist, an Architect, a builder, a real estate developer, and he seems to be also a talented speaker designer. Jeff has been designing furnishings, works of art and buildings for nearly 40 years. His talents are visible in his works throughout numerous parts of Boston and Cambridge. Over the past few years he has turned his attention also into speaker design. Jeff is a long-time music and audio lover whose passion was kindled in his early teens building speakers with his father using Altec Lansing Voice of the Theater components.
Jeff’s latest take on the Trio15 Horn1 was inspired by the Art Nouveau furniture of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. “The speaker baffles and frame take a very 2-dimensional speaker design and transforms it into a true 3-dimensional speaker”, says Jeff. The overall sound is tremendous; full tight bass, lush flowing mid-range, and crisp sweet highs. As with all our products, the sound is a sound of live music.
