Duet15 in Germany: “I feel I’ve ‘come home’ with my system”

Immediately After Assembly:

“I received the remaining parts last Monday and immediately began assembling the speakers, which was quite easy thanks to the excellent assembly instructions. The only part that gave me a bit of trouble was attaching the baffle with the mounted drivers to the frame.

For the second speaker, I tried a different approach and attached the baffle to the frame before mounting the drivers. I rested the end with the Voxativ driver on a chair and placed the bass end on a pillow on the floor. This made access to the bolts a bit more difficult, but overall, it made attaching the baffle to the frame much easier and felt less risky.

And wow – what a fantastic speaker! It has exceeded my expectations. It produces a sound I’ve never experienced in my music room before. I’ve previously owned a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 802 D2s – which are fantastic speakers – and I also currently have the new Dynaudio Contour Legacy, which are also excellent. But I’ve been searching for a slightly softer and warmer sound that still retains good detail.

Even though my new Duet 15s aren’t fully broken in yet, my goodness – they sound amazing. The Duet 15s have a softer midrange and top end, yet they are still very detailed, often revealing more nuance in vocals and also in the bass region.

I’m so happy I chose to buy the Duet 15s, and I’m already dreaming of maybe one day upgrading to the Trio 15 – or even the Quintet 15, if I have the space!

In the meantime, I’m considering buying a tube amplifier, as I understand that it can bring even more magic to the sound of the Duet 15s. I currently use a HiFi Rose RA280 integrated amplifier, which also has a very nice warm and detailed sound, but I hope that owning a tube amp will add another layer of magic.”

4 Months Later:

“I finally found the time to send you a follow-up regarding my Duet 15’s. 🙂

Purchasing the Duet 15’s has been the best HiFi investment I have made. I am absolutely delighted with these speakers, and after adding a Muzishare X7 and an Elekit TU-8900VK to my system, the overall sound has reached an entirely new level. Listening to Jazz, Blues, or any well-recorded music through the Duet 15’s with one of my tube amplifiers is often nothing short of magical.

In many ways, I feel I’ve “come home” with my system. I now have a sound that lets me enjoy all kinds of music, and whenever I want a different signature or mood, I can simply switch to another amplifier or streamer/DAC – but the Duet 15’s always remain the speakers of choice. 🙂

I hope I will have the opportunity to meet you in person at a HiFi conference someday.
