The Speakers in Spike Lee’s ‘Highest to Lowest’ | PureAudioProject on Set
About a year and a half ago, we were honored when Spike Lee’s team reached out about using PureAudioProject speakers in his upcoming film, Highest to Lowest. Our modular, open-baffle designs were specially selected to appear on set — not for their sound performance, but for their unique and powerful visual aesthetic.
As longtime admirers of Spike Lee’s groundbreaking work — from Do the Right Thing to He Got Game — the opportunity to contribute, even visually, to his creative world was incredibly exciting. Naturally, we wanted to make sure it was real — and a few months later, there we were, assembling our speakers on a film set in New York City.
What Speakers Are in Spike Lee’s ‘Highest to Lowest’?

While the speakers do not play audio during the film, their presence contributes to the authentic, stylish environment crafted by Spike Lee and his team. Coming from a director renowned for his eye for style and culture, this was an incredible compliment to our design philosophy.
Highest to Lowest is inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s classic High and Low and features an all-star cast including Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, A$AP Rocky, and more. Knowing that our speakers were chosen for the set design of such a significant production, with such an extraordinary cast, is a moment of immense pride for us.
Behind the Scenes with PureAudioProject
On set, we personally assembled the Trio15 Horn1 and Quintet15 Horn1, making sure every detail reflected the craftsmanship and modular beauty PureAudioProject is known for. Although we have not yet seen the final cut, we are excited and proud to have been part of the atmosphere behind one of the most anticipated films of the year.
This collaboration reminds us that great design is more than sound — it’s presence, energy, and emotion. That’s what we strive to bring to every speaker we build.
